Trekking for Shelter: A Legendary Coat, A 100KM Trek AND A Mission to Support Women in Need
A Legendary Coat with a Powerful Story
If you’ve been following the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, you may have heard about the Legendary Faux Fur Coat—a fundraising icon that has traveled across Canada, raising thousands of dollars for women’s shelters. The coat has been auctioned off and donated back repeatedly, rallying incredible support from real estate professionals across the country.
Recently, I was part of a group of Royal LePage agents from across Canada who bid over $22,000 to secure this one-of-a-kind coat in the latest Shelter Foundation Auction. The funds from our bid—like every dollar raised through the Shelter Foundation—will go directly to helping women and children escape domestic abuse.
But my commitment doesn’t stop there.
100KM Through the Cambodian Jungle for Shelter
This October 2025, I’ll be taking things a step further (literally) by participating in the Cambodia Challenge for Shelter. Alongside over 100 Royal LePage colleagues from across Canada, I’ll be trekking over 100KM through Cambodia’s dense jungle, enduring intense heat and humidity, sleeping in small tents, and going completely off-grid—all to raise critical funds for shelters across Canada.
While the journey will be incredibly rewarding, it won’t be easy. I’ll be:
Trekking for 5 days through rugged terrain
Facing extreme heat and humidity
Sleeping in tents & using rustic facilities
Unplugging from technology & comforts of home
But every kilometer I walk and every challenge I face will be nothing compared to what women and children fleeing domestic violence endure.
How Your Donation Helps
To take part in this trek, I’ve committed to raising at least $6,000 for the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, with:
80% of funds going directly to The West Island Women’s Shelter, helping families in our community escape violence and rebuild their lives.
20% funding national education programs, teaching youth about healthy relationships, recognizing early signs of abuse, and breaking the cycle of violence—life-saving education that prevents future harm.
100% of donations going to the cause, because Royal LePage covers all admin costs so that every dollar goes where it’s needed most.
