Kathy Pitirri was a remarkable woman whose life was defined by resilience, love, and the pursuit of knowledge. A single mother of two boys, now aged 15 and 12, Kathy grew up in Ontario and earned her PhD at the University of Toronto before embarking on a career in research at Penn State University.

During the pandemic, as borders closed, Kathy and her boys found themselves in Montreal visiting family. With nowhere else to go, they spent a transformative year in Mont Tremblant and Saint Donat. It was during this unexpected adventure that they fell deeply in love with Quebec's unique charm and community spirit.

In the fall of 2021, Kathy and her sons returned to Ontario to be closer to family as she bravely faced a cancer diagnosis. Her treatments went remarkably well, and while in remission in the spring of 2022, Kathy was thrilled to accept a job in Montreal, allowing her to return home to Canada. It was then that she discovered the beautiful, welcoming community of Pincourt and purchased the lovely bungalow at 277 Maple.

Kathy and her boys quickly fell in love with their new home. They envisioned years of laughter, growth, and countless memories within its walls—playing basketball and hockey in the driveway, enjoying family dinners, and hosting gatherings with friends and neighbours.

Sadly, just a few months after moving in, Kathy's cancer returned, forcing her to return to Toronto for further treatment. Tragically, she lost her valiant battle on September 19, 2022. Kathy's legacy, however, is one of kindness, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to her family.
